You've neglected to mention one of the easiest ways people can store potable water: in their hot water tank and/or bath tub. The former holds at least 50 gallons. The latter 80. That's sufficient water for a family of four to drink for a month. Then you just need some extra water for cooking and hygiene. All at little extra cost and without impractical storage needs.

Most folks aren't even prepared financially let alone with food and water. Sad indictment of society that last. Thanks for turning me on to Zerowater... I was a Rookie. :-)
