“All rail service coming to and from the Port of Vancouver is halted because of flooding in the British Columbia interior.” – Matti Polychronis, port spokesperson
Oh boy. This is not QUITE as big of a potential disaster as the Suez canal being taken out by accident (which luckily for the world, was resolved relatively quickly.), but still. It's piling on to a pile of a bigger problems than what was going on earlier in the year.
I don't import any wine from Canada, but yeah, the bulk grain related stuff could be quite a problem, good thing China decided to just stop exporting fertilizer ehe... looks like they'll need to really ramp up their own domestic farming. (which in the long run is probably for the better. but short run is a big ooof.)
As an Australian all we see is top soil floating away......which is devastating.
Wish I could understand the implications.

Somebody has to be the first to comment on this piece…
I stopped drinking Coke a long time ago, so this story will not affect me. :)
