since this team is heavily commodity oriented, it would be nice to see experts in certain silos such as metallurgic coal, copper mining, lithium and trace metal developments it seems there is a lot of coverage of oil and geopolitics...but more diverse investment opportunities exist and coverage would be nice
as a subscriber I have found Doomberg content to be excellent - question ? what other substack newsletters or podcasts do the writers at Doomberg read or listen to ? looking for intellectual stimulation and actionable investment ideas - thank you -
Have loved your stuff ever since being introduced to it. Just one thing, & I don’t want to upset any one, but I thought the chicken you refer to was “Chicken Lickin” & “Hen Len” & “Goose Loose” were also characters.
I wait to be corrected , after all it was 65 or more years ago.
Happy to subscribe for content as well researched and thoughtful as this. In a world where, increasingly, the tide of opinion is led by religious/ideological/cultural imperatives, navigating by evidence/research (careful to attempt to avoid confirmation bias, of course) is very, very important. Keep up the good work.
Thank you Doomberg(ers)! I've shared your articles far and wide and I figured it was time to sign up! Your nuanced, intelligent analysis is particularly poignant and relevant to Australia. With the earlier than predicted closure of coal-fired power stations, tech billionaires making bids to take over operating fossil-energy assets with a view to closing them, moratoriums on onshore gas exploration, and debate around nuclear energy kyboshed (despite having the world’s largest resources of uranium) - energy "policy" is a mess, to say the least. This on top of fake independents bankrolled by 'Climate 200' (billionaires with strong vested interests in subsidised renewables) in the upcoming Federal election, and draconian, authoritarian measures to "manage" the recent virus, Australia has become a country I no longer recognise. Your articles keep me sane. Thank you again.
Can we get a sketch of bios of the writers? I can understand desire for anonymity, but some provenance would be appreciated to give an idea of how much weight to attribute to views.
Hi Jim - we've given our backgrounds during various podcast interviews, which is as far as we are going to go. Our writing and research should be viewed independently of the authors. Time will be our appraiser.
Thus far Lyn Alden was the only subscription I was willing to pay for. But as of this morning I'm proud to be a pro member of the coop. Loved the hype video BUT, the 80's song "What's on Your Mind (Pure Energy)" by Information Society, featuring voiceovers from Spock and Bones, would make it truly epic. Give it a listen
"Final Report" sounds so...well...final. Are you retiring while you're on top rather than embarrassing yourselves with a few throw away seasons with the Wizards or Chiefs?
When will the Felix/grant/doomberg recording be available?

It's the final "Work of My Life" report. We will replace it with something new on the other side of the paywall.
